I got to know Derek in the early stages of my appointment as Governor, through his roles at the Rotary Club of Grand Cayman and as President of Cayman Rugby. It soon became apparent what a pillar of the community he is, always aiming to serve and support the island to the best of his ability.
He has been a committed and a hugely beneficial donor to multiple causes through his annual running/climbing for charity. His efforts impressed me so much so much so that I became Patron of his charity appeals for three consecutive years. Most notably, Derek’s fundraising included the 2014 Grand Cayman Hospice appeal that has resulted in the building of a facility valued at over $3million and which will be of huge benefit to the community of the Cayman Islands..

As a Class D licensed Reinsurance provider in Cayman we engaged HDC to assist with our disaster management planning, being a regulatory requirement under the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (CIMA), as well as prudent practice for our staff, our office and our A rated firm.

Global Captive Management
We recently went through an inspection by CIMA. Whilst we had a disaster preparedness program that we implemented in 2004 after Hurricane Ivan they were looking for something more substantial.
We brought in Haines Disaster Consultancy to do a full review for us and make recommendations. We implemented them and CIMA were happy with the report and implementation thereof. We even had 10 people take the Red Cross First Aid, CPR and AED training course.
We would definitely recommend that you hire Haines Disaster Recovery to assist with your disaster preparedness program.
